Director of Orthopaedic Clinic
Nikolaos Karamanis is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in reconstructive joint surgery, shoulder & knee arthroscopy, hand and upper extremity surgery and modern musculoskeletal treatment techniques.
He graduated from the University of Thessaly School of Medicine in 2002 and completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Orthopaedic Department of the University Hospital of Larissa in 2011.
As part of his advanced training, he completed a fellowship in reconstructive joint surgery at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden as well as a fellowship in arthroscopic shoulder surgery at Clinique Bizet, Paris, France.
From 2012 to 2025 he served as a consultant in the Hand, Upper Extremity & Microsurgery Clinic at IASO Thessaly while performing numerous surgical procedures in the area of joint reconstruction and limb deformity correction.
He currently serves as

Hand and upper extremity surgery
Arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery
Correction of long bone deformities with circular frames
He is currently completing his PhD thesis titled:
“Biomechanical and Clinical Evaluation of the Taylor Spatial Frame Compared to the Ilizarov Apparatus”
conducted through the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology at University of Thessaly in collaboration with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Thessaly.
He has also participated in national and international scientific conferences and is the author of scientific publications in international medical journals.
